Mission: The American Littoral Society (ALS) is a national, non-profit, public interest, coastal conservation organization comprised of professional and amateur naturalists. It seeks to encourage a better understanding of the marine environment and provide a unified voice advocating protection of the delicate fabric of life along the shore. Publications, field trips and special projects such as the annual beach cleanup and the Jamaica Bay Guardian keep members abreast of current issues
